Health Foundation Honors Four Dedicated Doctors

Dr. Harvey Kaplan, Dr. James Meier, Dr. Mark Highman, and Dr. Stan Rockman were honored for their dedication and for the difference they’ve made in the health of San Mateo County. The event, Moonlighting with the Stars, was attended by Foundation friends and community, as well as Congresswoman Jackie Speier and San Mateo County Supervisors Mark Church and Adrienne Tissier.

San Mateo County Health Foundation Announces Funding Priorities

San Mateo County Health Foundation announced women, children and seniors as their highest fundraising priorities for 2010-2012.  These priorities were presented by Executive Director, Patricia O’Brien at Cocktails at the Atrium, an event held in the atrium of San Mateo Medical Center. SMMC CEO Susan Ehrlich, Keller Center Social Worker Miriam Wolf, Foundation board member and SMMC physician Grace Hassid, along with over 100 community members, joined NBC Anchorwoman Lisa Kim for an informative evening that featured tours of several of the Foundation’s program priorities.

The Daily Journal – San Mateo Medical Center and San Mateo County Library Partner up for Literacy

Children at San Mateo Medical Center’s Fair Oaks Clinic are not only examined by the doctor; they are given a book through a partnership of San Mateo County Library and San Mateo Medical Center clinics. San Mateo County Library offers a program called Reach Out and Read, a national nonprofit funded through both private and public funds that partners with medical professionals to increase early literacy.
