Take a step in getting to know us by exploring volunteer opportunities at the Medical Center or at our Foundation office. You can work directly with patients or behind the scenes. Here’s a sampling of the 40+ volunteer positions:

  • Emergency Room – Make a meaningful difference by helping support patients and serving a liaison to the medical staff.
  • Gift Shop – Got a knack for sales? Join us in the gift shop to greet and assist visitors
  • Radiology – Help assist ultrasound technicians in serving even more patients with the Foundation funded breast ultrasound machine.
  • Rehabilitation Services – Transport patients to and from therapy sessions. You will also serve as liaison between patients and staff and provide friendly support service for visitors.

At San Mateo Medical Center, volunteers are integral team members. Men, women or teens may volunteer.  Volunteers must be at least 15 years old to participate at the hospital and clinics.  Please contact San Mateo Medical Center’s volunteer coordinator, Glynis Carreira, at (650) 573-3731.

There are also lots of ways to get involved in our Foundation office including:

    • Bundle of Joy – Program You will feel the joy when you help us assemble gift bags for new moms at San Mateo Medical Center, Fair Oaks Health Center, Coastside Clinic, South San Francisco Clinic, and Daly City Clinic.

  • Office/Event Assistant – Whether it’s filing, data entry, social media outreach, or assisting with planning a special event, volunteers are always welcome to help in our outreach and fundraising efforts.
