The Foundation is a private self supporting non-profit that does not take or receive any public funding from San Mateo County . We are fully dependent on donations from individuals, families, corporations and civic organizations.
If you would like to make a tax-deductible charitable donation to support the work of the Foundation you can do one of the following:

Your gift at whatever level you choose is most appreciated. Please note that all donations of $1,000 or more entitle the donor to membership in our Addie Keller Society .

Securities
You may gift shares of stock or bonds to the Foundation. We will provide a tax-statement indicating the value of the securities on the date received. Appreciated stock is a great way to support the Foundation without having to write a check or use a credit card.
Property
The Foundation is able to receive donated property such as automobiles, vacation homes, land, etc. and provide tax statements. The donor however is responsible for all liens and other related expenses. We must receive a clean title to all property. The Foundation does not accept unsolicited equipment or furniture. Exceptions can be made depending on the arrangement between donors and recipients, but must have Executive Director's approval. Foundation does accept motorized (cars, rv's, boats, etc.) donations but all arrangements should be made with Bizzaro's Auction Company. Please call 1-800-677-1744.
Bequests
You may want to provide support at the time of your death while maintaining your money while you are still alive and may need it. You can choose to donate a fixed amount or a percentage of your estate. Please consult with your attorney or financial planner if you are interested in a bequest.
Event Attendance
Throughout the year the Foundation holds special events. Plan to attend or become an event sponsor. Please check our events calendar for any upcoming events. In-kind gifts are often accepted in lieu of cash.
The San Mateo County Health Foundation is a 501 ( C ) 3 non-profit organization. All gifts are unrestricted for best use unless restricted for a special purpose by the donor. All donors are recognized annually in our newsletter unless donor prefers to be listed as anonymously. The Foundation reserves the right to use up to 15 percent of all gifts for administrative purposes.

Volunteer at the San Mateo County Health Foundation
The San Mateo County Health Foundation welcomes anyone who wishes to help the Foundation.
We invite you to join us!
Bundle of Joy Program - Sort through the donated and knitted items and prepare bags for distribution to new mothers at the San Mateo Medical Center and Fair Oaks Clinics.
Office Assistant - Light typing, filing, answering phones, preparing Foundation communication packets, entering data and other office duties. If research is your thing, we'd love help in researching Foundation funders. If you like to write, we have many opportunities.
Monday - Friday: 9:30 am - 11:30 am, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm (volunteer times are flexible)
Events Assistant - the Foundation holds 2-5 special events each year. Events assistant responsibilities include helping the day of the event such as set-up, manning the registration, greeter, selling raffle tickets. We also need help preparing for the event.
Events 2010 include:
- September 15, 2010 - Cocktails at the Atrium, San Mateo Medical Center
- October 25, 2010 - 7th Annual Golf Tournament, Peninsula Golf & Country Club
- November 18, 2010 - Bloomingdales Fashion Show, Stanford Shopping Center - Palo Alto
